To manage global macros, select Manage Global Status Change Macros from the Admin Controls menu. The Global Macros window provides the administrator with the opportunity to define macros that are available to all users. A status change macro provides you with the ability to set a status, return date/time, and memo all with just a few mouse clicks. When the macro is created, it can be executed on any user by selecting the status change macro controls on the Control Panel Toolbar, right-clicking on the status table, from the Action menu, or by right-clicking the system tray icon.
o | Click on the Add New Macro button on the toolbar to bring up an add window. Just complete the provided fields and click on the Add Macro button. There is no limit to how many macros can be created. |
• | Edit Status Change Macro |
o | Double-click on the macro in the table to bring it up in an edit window. Make any applicable changes and click on the Save and Close button in the menu or toolbar. |
• | Delete Status Change Macro |
o | Select the macro you wish to delete and click the Delete button in the toolbar. |
When adding or editing a macros, the following fields are available:
o | Edit the name of the macro. The name is what will show up in the macro lists when you choose to run a macro. Although you can create two macros with the same name, it can be hard to distinguish between identically named macros so a warning is displayed if the name already exists globally. |
o | Select any of the available status or status alias options you wish to be set when the macro is executed. "<no action>" will not make any status change when the macro is executed. |
o | This field lets you know that the action will be performed on the selected user. The selected user is the default user when the macro is ran from the Action menu or by right clicking the system tray icon. |
o | This control allows you to specify the return time or day that is set when the macro is executed. The available choices for time and day will vary depending on the status selected above. |
o | This control allows you specify the memo to be set when the macro is executed. If the checkbox is not checked, no memo will be set when the macro is executed. |
